My new Priest dinged 60 yesterday. The guy on the end of our 5-man RAF chain that we created (I referred 1 guy, who referred another, who referred another… etc. There were 5 of us) got to 59 on his RAF toon, so he granted the next guy up, and it went up the chain from there. My Priest got granted from 53-59 yesterday, then I queued for a dungeon and dinged 60.
At 58 you can queue for Outlands dungeons or the higher Old World ones. I didn’t quite want to go to Outlands yet, I have been enjoying running the older dungeons and getting achievements. So I queued for Dire Maul, LBRS, Stratholme and Scholomance. LBRS was the first one to pop, and that was an enjoyable run. I do not think I have ever actually been into that dungeon before, so it was nice to see something “new”.
Tonight I think I will do the same thing again and hopefully get Strat, Scholo or DM for the achievement runs.
The X-53 Touring Rocket, the only 2-seated flying mount currently available in game, will be claimable by qualifying Refer-A-Friend accounts starting today, Tuesday April 27.
The previous Zhevra Mount is going to be retired.

I am friended with 2 other players right now, and the first one is expiring tomorrow. So obviously we wanted to get as close to 60 as possible, and honestly 58 was enough for me since that is where the Outlands quests start in Thrallmar. Last night we got another run in Stratholme and both dinged 58. My hunter actually hit 59 and my friend, which is a Warrior, hit 58. So we will be starting in Thrallmar this weekend.
The Hunter is waiting at Level 50 for my friend to get his Warrior to 50, so that we can go start running through Stratholme and then Diremaul, up to 58 and Outlands. So while my friend is leveling, I took my Druid into ZF with him again last night on a run from another friend of ours with an 80. My Druid was 46 and dinged 47 last night, and my friend’s Warrior dinged 48. Triple XP is AWESOME.
I don’t think I have blogged about this yet, but I started a new priest a few weeks ago on the Recruit-a-Friend program with yet another person (this is my 4th refer bonus reward) This was a random person in my guild who I did not know, that wanted to run up a couple of toons to 60 with the Triple XP. So I deleted my first priest and started a new one. We ran together up to 30, then I put the priest down and ran my Hunter with him, who dinged 50 over the weekend. So yesterday, I got him to login while my priest was online and lvl grant me from 30 to 47.
I had a good time this weekend, running the priest around Silverpine Forest and The Barrnes, picking flowers. I leveled his Herbalism several levels and used the mats to level his Inscriptions. When I learned how to make Glyphs, the very low, first few ones, I made one of each and put them on the Auction House. They are selling for anywhere from 8-29 Gold. It seems that right now, Inscriptions is a good way to make money, so I will definately be continuing with this process!
Hunter dinged 30 2 days ago on the refer-a-friend program. I do not get to play him much because my friend works 2 jobs, so we try and level them when we can. We also started 2 new toons, in hopes that we’ll have time before the 90-day trial expires, to take both of them to 60. I now have a Rogue.
Our Refer-a-friend bonus actually goes until Feb 5, but I am not sure that we will run any more toons before then. Last week, we got our 2 toons to 58 (my Paladin and my friend’s Warlock), and I was able to get level grants on both my Shammy and my Mage, so along with my Deathknight, I now have 4 toons around level 58.
It didn’t take any time at all to quest in Thrallmar with each toon from 58-60. My Shaman is now 61, about 20% through. I am planning on using him as a Resto Shammy for my guild.
So I have some work to do, to level 4 toons all the way to 80. This is on top of my main, The Warrior, who is already 80 and I am raiding with, and The Warlock who is 74, working his way to 80 also. I am going to concentrate on running the Shaman (who will be heals) and the Paladin (who will be Prot) up to 80, each as a DPS spec now, and then re-specing to their respective roles once they hit 80.
So I have some work ahead of me….
Last night a friend, who accepted an invite to join WoW that I sent him, and I ran quests in Stonetalon Mountains. The recruit-a-friend program is nice because it gives you TRIPLE XP for any mobs killed, AND for Quest turn-ins. So at levels 20-25, it is normal to get around 6000-9000 XP for a quest completion.
This also works well in Instance runs, getting you triple XP for mobs killed. It is nice to have a 70 run you through quickly, a few times.
One thing that I noticed about the triple XP is that is apparently doesn’t take away from your Rest Bonus. My rest bonus at the beginning of the night was 150% and after leveling twice from grinding and from quest turn-ins I was only down to 130% rest at the end of the night. It seems to take away the NORMAL percentage of rest you would get from not being on the recruit-a-friend program, but it doesn’t take away triple percentages. This is nice, it basically means that I could be rested all the way up to 60 when Triple XP ends.
Some nice features of the Refer-a-Friend promotion are:
Triple XP on grinding and quests
Summon your friend anywhere in the game, 1 hour cooldown
When your friend has paid for his first month, YOU get a free month
When your friend has paid for his 2nd month, You’ve earned an exclusive in-game mount.
