I wanted to write a post that lists my toons and their levels at the time of the Cataclysm release. I wish that I had done this when Lich King dropped, but I never thought about it. So here goes:

The Warrior – 80
The Mage – 80
Launch, My Shaman – 80
The Paladin – 80
The Druid – newest 80, only hit 80 about a month before
The Hunter – just hit 70
The Deathknight – 68
The Warlock - 79. He is on my 2nd account right now, and I rarely play him
The Priest – 70 and holding. I turned off XP on him to run him in BC heroics, just for something different to do. However, I haven’t logged him in for about 2-3 months.
The Rogue - my lowbie. 42 at the time of this post.

I also have a lowbie Shaman who is 40, and a new Goblin Warrior that I just started to do the beginning Goblin quests. Some of us in the guild have started some new toons with plans to do dungeons on them for all the guild dungeon achievements, which should be quite fun.

I loaded up WoW this morning before going to work and found that Hallow’s End started today, which I knew but had forgotten.

So I queued for the Headless Horseman run, and the instance still seems somewhat broken, but the queue finally came through. It works much like Brewfest did, you queue for it with the dungeon finder and at the end, you receive a bag with some items and possibly the Headless Horseman’s Steed.

And I got it… first run of the season, on the first toon, my Druid. Woohoo. Here is a screenshot below of the dungeon finder window and of my Druid riding his new mount.

At the time of the patch drop, my Druid had reached 4460GS. I honestly don't know what he is at this moment because the Gearscore addon isn't working. When the servers finally came back up last night after the 17-hour patch, all EoF and EoT had been coverted to Justice Points, and my Druid had about 700JP. I purchased the former-EoF cloak Drape of the Violet Tower for 698 JPs.
From 80 to 5000, part 2 is a post from: Azgalor Nights

My original plan was to post this post when I hit 5000 gearscore, and give a measurement of time and Emblems that is took to get there. With yesterday’s patch changing all the currency, I thought I would just go ahead and post this now, but will probably make a follow-up later also.

At the time of the patch drop, my Druid had reached 4460GS. I honestly don’t know what he is at this moment because the Gearscore addon isn’t working. When the servers finally came back up last night after the 17-hour patch, all EoF and EoT had been coverted to Justice Points, and my Druid had about 700JP. I purchased the former-EoF cloak Drape of the Violet Tower for 698 JPs.

I also ran a couple of Heroic Dungeons on him. You get 16JP for each boss kill, and 23JP at the end of running a random heroic. The Dungeon Finder window doesn’t show the JPs you get yet, this is a known bug in the patch.

Here is the order of gear-up since I dinged 80 on The Druid:

I started with 46 Emblems of Triumph when he dinged 80, from running a daily random dungeon each day. After 5 heroics, I had enough emblems to buy my firt 2 T9 pieces at the same time for the set bonus.

I ran 6 more heroics and purchased the iLVL 245 Idol to replace the level 72 one I was wearing

After 7 more heroics, I had enough emblems to buy my 3rd and 4th T9 piece for the 4-set bonus

11 more Heroics and I purchased my iLVL 245 EoT helm.

5 more heroics got me some more emblems, but then I decided to start queuing for specific FoS, and PoS dungeons. I did this a couple of times before the patch dropped.

With the new cloak I got yesterday, I am guessing my GS is around 4600 now. I will be farming Justice Points to buy T10 and iLVL 264 gear and perhaps trying to get an ICC10 run for some rep with Ashen Verdict.

As I posted the other day, I began running my new 80 Druid in random heroics in attempts to get him geared up to raid. I realize this might be a little late with the patch 4.01 supposedly dropping next week, but I find it fun to run heroics when they still have a purpose, as a new toon would. I find it boring with my other 80s who are all ICC-geared.

I thought that I would find some fast and easy runs with people queuing for randoms with their mains and geared alts, for the daily 2 Emblems of Frost. What I have actually discovered is more and more under-geared toons running the heroics. Not badly geared people, just people around my level, at the 3500-4500 Gearscore range. It takes a bit longer to run heroics with toons around this gear level, but hey I can’t complain, they are doing the same thing I am!

So everyone go grind those heroics and get those Emblems of Triumph which will be converted to Justice Points in the new patch 4.01. I am told the conversion rate for EoT and EoF is the same, which is a good reason to run chain heroics.

I’ll see you out there in the queue.

Now the test begins. I am going to catalog in this blog how many random heroics and how much time it takes to get him to 5000gs. This will be done primarily with Emblem of Triumph gear, but also with a few crafted items that I plan to buy later from the AH or from guild members who can make them.

Also when I dinged 80, I had 46 Emblems of Triumph from running the daily random dungeon.

This was my first Heroic Coilfang dungeon on my resto druid. I have had the key for a couple of weeks, but I always seem to get Thrallmar dungeons. I was happy for something new today.

I sat in queue for almost 2 hours before getting this dungeon. Tanks seem to be sparse today for some reason, usually it doesn’t take nearly that long. I didn’t wait the whole 2 hours at once, I queued for 30 min, then signed off, came back later and re-queued; and I did that 2-3 times. All-in-all it was about 1.5-2 hours of wait time before a Heroic Outlands dungeon finally popped.

Our tank today was Prowleon, a druid tank from the Elune realm. He did very well, the only times we wiped in the run was when the mobs feared him or feared the hunter or warlock pet into more mobs and it was more than I could heal all at once. That happened twice, so it slowed us down some, but overall it was a very good run.

One of my lasts posts was about my Priest getting to 70 and running Heroics in Outlands. The Druid started down this same road yesterday. I am not planning on turning off XP for the Druid, he is going to be my next 80, most likely. But I do want to shoot for the achievements towards Outlands Dungeon Master and Outlands Dungeon Hero.

Queuing for BC Heroics on the Priest has proved somewhat challenging. Most of the time we are waiting for a tank like any random queue, but there have been several times where I waited for some DPS to queue also. Not as many people seem to be queuing for these as I had hoped would, so it is going to take longer to get these achievements than I had planned. But no matter, it is still quite fun trying for it.

Previous posts under “The Druid” were written about a toon I have now deleted that I had named “Netherjape” He was a Thunderchicken that I had around level 58 or so, and frankly I found him rather boring, which is why I deleted him. When the new LFD system was released, I decided to try a Druid again, this time as Resto instead of DPS and I have found this to be quite fun.

My purpose for this new Druid was to level completely using the LFD system, while going for the Classic Dungeon Master Achievement also. You can only start queuing for LFD at level 15, so I had to quest with him from 1-15, but ever since then I have done nothing but run dungeons as a Resto Druid, with the exception of a few Holiday Quests and of course dungeon quests that are completed in a specific instance.

Last week I decided to break out of my dungeon-only grind for a short while and try healing some Battelgrounds. I very much enjoy healing BGs and WG with my 80 Resto Shammy, so I thought I would try it with the Druid also. I was 47 when I first started, and within the course of doing 3 or 4 BGs per day since Saturday (today is Tuesday) I am now 50.

For the life of me, I couldn’t win a Warsong Gulch BG, so that one didn’t provide me with much XP. However, Arathi Basin turned out to be a gold mine. Each time we won, I gained half-a-level of XP. When I was 75% through level 49, I went into an AB game and gained about 15% just from holding flags. When we won that round, I dinged 50 and was already at 38% into the level. This turned out to be a great way to level from the top of your level bracket (30s, 40s, 50s, etc…) until you reach the next stage. Now I plan to go back to LFD full time, as to not miss out on any dungeons that I still need.
