I wanted to write a post that lists my toons and their levels at the time of the Cataclysm release. I wish that I had done this when Lich King dropped, but I never thought about it. So here goes:

The Warrior – 80
The Mage – 80
Launch, My Shaman – 80
The Paladin – 80
The Druid – newest 80, only hit 80 about a month before
The Hunter – just hit 70
The Deathknight – 68
The Warlock - 79. He is on my 2nd account right now, and I rarely play him
The Priest – 70 and holding. I turned off XP on him to run him in BC heroics, just for something different to do. However, I haven’t logged him in for about 2-3 months.
The Rogue - my lowbie. 42 at the time of this post.

I also have a lowbie Shaman who is 40, and a new Goblin Warrior that I just started to do the beginning Goblin quests. Some of us in the guild have started some new toons with plans to do dungeons on them for all the guild dungeon achievements, which should be quite fun.

Arcane Mages seem to be the way to go after patch 4.01. My Mage has always been Arcane, at least since he was 80, and I have always enjoyed the speed, ease and DPS levels of that spec.

Pre- Patch 4.01 the basic rotation was Arcane Blast x3 or 4, and Arcane Missiles, hopefully with a proc for a speed increase. Some people would follow that with Arcane Barrage, and some would just start over again with Arcane Blast and only use the Barrage for situations of having to move, since it is an instant-cast attack.

Post- Patch, there are several SP and DPS buffs for using Evocation, and for having your Mana as full as possible. After talking with a few guildies and others online whose opinions that I trust, I have learned there is a 3-part stage to the new Arcane rotation. I’d be interested to see who of you are using this, and if anyone has found a better idea for this rotation. However, at the time of this post, I have seen Arcane Mages pull 15k dps in 5-man heroics and 18k dps in a 10-man raid. So I don’t think I am wrong in relying on this rotation.

Pop all your special abilities, CDs and attacks upon the start of the boss fight. This includes Mirror Image, Arcane Empower, Mana Gem (spec’d for the extra SP buff that is gives in your talent tree) and any Alchemist/Herbalist or other profession buffs you might have.

Arcane Blast until you drop to 40% Mana

Evocate. This provides an additional damage buff if used in your rotation or during combat.

Normal Rotation resumes. Arcane Blastx 3 or 4, and Arcane Missiles on proc, which should be every 3-4 times since the proc is 30%. Your mana should stay around 85% or higher, which also gives a boosted DPS to your attacks.

When all your CDs come off cool-down, start over. By this time either the boss will be dead or most of your party will be LOL.

I did 10k DPS on the 2nd boss in Heroic TOC 5-man yesterday with my Mage at a 5300gs. He has 3 T9 pieces, but no T10 yet. I bought T10 the day after with Justice Points earned from running Heroics, most of which I am top DPS by using this method.

Wow, sorry I have been lagging behind on this site. Been playing too much WoW LOL.

The Mage is 80 and running daily Heroics for badges now. With the 3.2 patch that came out last week, we can get some cool new gear from the Emblem of Conquest Quatermaster in Dalaran. Several good pieces of item level 226 gear here.

The Shaman is doing well, he got his Ambassador title from doing the Argent Tournament Dailies for all 5 Horde cities, then got Exhalted with Sunreavers, and then with Argent Crusade. The 5 cities plus Argent Crusade gives you the title “Crusader” It also opens up 2 new Daily Champion quests, and the Sunreavers have 3 new quests. All together, with the 4 original Champion quests, I can get 10 Champion Seals per day. TONIGHT I will have my Argent Hippogryph. W00t.

More updates later on the Argent Tournament quests…

This is the 3rd time I have done this quest and questline and I never get tired of it. The Mage is 72 right now, so a friend of mine who has a 71 Priest went and ran the whole quest line in about 2 days. I loved watching the video, seeing the town burn in DB and then talking to Thrall in Orgrimmar. Fighting along side Thrall and Sylvannas is quite fun. I am looking forward to running it again on The Hunter once he reaches that level. Of course I have screen shots of the even before it starts, as I do on my other 2 toons, I’ll try and post one in here soon.

Our Refer-a-friend bonus actually goes until Feb 5, but I am not sure that we will run any more toons before then. Last week, we got our 2 toons to 58 (my Paladin and my friend’s Warlock), and I was able to get level grants on both my Shammy and my Mage, so along with my Deathknight, I now have 4 toons around level 58.

It didn’t take any time at all to quest in Thrallmar with each toon from 58-60. My Shaman is now 61, about 20% through. I am planning on using him as a Resto Shammy for my guild.

So I have some work to do, to level 4 toons all the way to 80. This is on top of my main, The Warrior, who is already 80 and I am raiding with, and The Warlock who is 74, working his way to 80 also. I am going to concentrate on running the Shaman (who will be heals) and the Paladin (who will be Prot) up to 80, each as a DPS spec now, and then re-specing to their respective roles once they hit 80.

So I have some work ahead of me….

I didn’t quite realize that it had been an entire month since I had written here, so I am going to post an update for all the toons I have been working on since the last entry.

The Warrior:
I ran Kara for the first time just a few nights ago. I never really got into Raiding with the Warrior, mostly because most people want me to tank and I don’t like tanking. At one time, I got very burned out on the Warrior, but lately since re-specing to ARMS, I have been enjoying him more. I plan to level him to 80 once WOTLK comes out next week.

The Warlock:
With the new patch, 3.0.3, that dropped 2 days ago, you can now get the Dreadsteed from the TRAINER at level 61! It cost me 510g for the riding lessons, something which I didn’t have to buy for the level 30 mount, and the horse itself was 17g. My goal is to get the Warlock to 70 before WOTLK drops. Last night I quested with him in Nagrand and ran Underbog, and finished the night around 65% through level 66. I will definitely hit 67 with him tonight and see how far I can get him.

The Mage:
The Made is at level 51 and I have put him on a temporary hold in order to spend time leveling the Warlock to 70.

The Shaman:
I have been running the Shaman for the last few weeks on the Refer-a-Friend program with a friend who has a Warlock. We are both around level 40 and it didn’t take much time to get there. It isn’t uncommon to get 9500+ XP for a quest turn-in at this level with this triple XP bonus.

The Hunter and The Twink:
These 2 names are the same toon. I started a hunter a while back, only because I didn’t have one and I wanted to see what they were like. In my opinion, there are too many hunters on the server. Anyway, after I started him and ran him up to around level 8, a friend on the server said that I should Twink him out and bring him into a Twink guild that he had. So we ran him through Deadmines and Wailing Caverns, getting some good leather armor drops and weapons for him and I started running Warsong Gulch with him last week. THAT IS FUN! He already has over 1000 kills and I have bought 2 new PvP pieces of gear with the honor I received. Our goal is to get them Exhaulted with Warsong Outriders, and then level them to 29 and start on Arathi Basin.
