10Man Naxx, Warrior on the Rise

June 2nd, 2009

The Warrior ran 10-Man Naxx last night and got 3 new pieces of gear.  His DPS was still quite low at around 1450 on KT, the last boss.  I think I might try and find a rotation somewhere to increase DPS, the one I am using now is BloodThirst, Whirlwind and Heroic Strike, mostly.

The three new pieces I got where a new HelmChest Piece,   and a new Trinket.  Of course the armor is all plate and the trinket increases Crit/AP.

I am not overly interested in gearing out my Warrior, but the guild was running a 10-man last night and my Shammy is decked is T7.5 or higher, so I thought I would learn some fights with the Warrior instead.  I enjoyed it alot and I hope I can run some more to get better gear and his DPS up much more.

Children’s Week Achievments – Warsong Gulch

May 5th, 2009

I used to get real burned out on PVP, but I have found lately that I am enjoyin them more.  BGs were especially fun last night. Some friends and I ran into the Alliance flag room in WSG… picked up the flag, and then dropped it in front of the AC there and let them return it. At first they tried to kill us, and we died a couple of times,  but then I ran back and started dancing with them and they finally got it.  Several of them pulled out the orphans and we just sat there, in peace with Allies, for several minutes, picking up their flag and dropping it for them to return. This was after I had already got mine in our flag room.  I think some of the Allies in there were doing the same thing, they seemed to be running slower than normal. It was quiet funny, I was laughing the whole time.  Definately the most fun I have had in a BG, in a long time.

Lowest DPS in 25-man VoA

April 20th, 2009

So The Warrior went and ran 25-man VoA after we won WG on Saturday.  My plan wasn’t to go, but I got invited, so I went.  I have run this before on The Warrior, so it isn’t new to him (I’ve run it many times on my healer, so I know the dungeon..) but I haven’t run the new boss yet with The Warrior.

We go in and kill all the trash, then kill Archavon and some nice plate pants drop for me, which I won the roll on.  However, they threw up the DPS meter and I was around 1100 DPS, right at the bottom of the list.  I beat the tank, but that was all.  And of course this is a pug group, so everyone starts complaining about me and a couple of other low DPSers.  And honestly, I cannot blame them, one reason I stopped playing this toon is because his DPS sucks.  And it is next to impossible to find RAID runs with a non-geared DPS Fury Warrior.  Most groups want me to tank, and I absolutely hate tanking with a warrior, so I never want to do that, and no one wants a non-geared warrior.  I have run some heroics and I do have a few epic pieces, but still… no one wants a warrior.  So I stopped playing him, and this weekend, I was reminded why.

And its ok, I am not upset about it, I know his DPS sucks.  My plan is to get The Mage to 80, he is almost 71 right now, and he will be my main DPS.

Cold Flying at Level 77

December 2nd, 2008

Yes, the Warrior hit Level 77 last night. It costs 1000g to get Cold Weather Flying from the trainer, who is right next to the Flight Master in Dalaran. Once you get this, you can use your previous flying mount from Outlands in Northrend.

As a follow-up to a comment in my previous post about Northrend Gear… I have noticed a significant difference between The Warrior, who wears Plate, and The Warlock, who is now 71 and a Cloth Wearer. There seems to be a larger abundance of Cloth gear in Northrend, than Plate gear. This was also true when I first got to Outlands, it was frustrating because most of the Plate was Paladin gear, having Intellect and Spell Power/Healing buffs. So Warrior Plate seems to be in shirt supply, so if you are leveling a Warrior, go get some Level 70 Purples from Karazhan or other BC instances, it will last you a long time in Northrend.

One funny part about Northrend flying is that there are “No Fly Zones” so when you enter one of these, it pops a message on your screen and tells you that you will dismounted, then it kicks you off about 10 seconds later. This happens inside the City of Dalaran also, you can only fly near the Flight Master.

Battle for the Undercity

November 22nd, 2008

I am doing this quest right now.  I highly suggest that everyone on Horde do this quest.  There is a bonus in-game video when you turn in the Quest titled Return to Angrather.  It is quite exciting.

The Warrior is at 73 right now and will be 74 tonight.  FOR THE HORDE!

***EDIT***
After I completed this quest, I learned a couple of things. At first, I couldn’t figure out where to go or what to do. After you port from Orgrimmar to the entrance of Undercity, you are supposed to talk to Thrall to start the quest. He wasn’t there when I got there, so I went in and got killed. I later learned that if he isn’t there, that means someone else is running the raid. Simply wait at the entrance, by the big troll who gives you the quest, for Thrall to reappear. Once he comes back, talk to him and get started. This is really a glorified escort quest…all you need to do is follow Thrall until the very end. There is also a meter at the top of your screen that will tell you which part of the quest is going on. Wait for that to say it is resetting and that is when Thrall will appear at the entrance again.

Here is the quest-line leading up to Battle for the Undercity.  It consists of most quests in Dragonblite.

Updates for Everyone….

November 6th, 2008

I didn’t quite realize that it had been an entire month since I had written here, so I am going to post an update for all the toons I have been working on since the last entry.

The Warrior:
I ran Kara for the first time just a few nights ago. I never really got into Raiding with the Warrior, mostly because most people want me to tank and I don’t like tanking. At one time, I got very burned out on the Warrior, but lately since re-specing to ARMS, I have been enjoying him more. I plan to level him to 80 once WOTLK comes out next week.

The Warlock:
With the new patch, 3.0.3, that dropped 2 days ago, you can now get the Dreadsteed from the TRAINER at level 61! It cost me 510g for the riding lessons, something which I didn’t have to buy for the level 30 mount, and the horse itself was 17g. My goal is to get the Warlock to 70 before WOTLK drops. Last night I quested with him in Nagrand and ran Underbog, and finished the night around 65% through level 66. I will definitely hit 67 with him tonight and see how far I can get him.

The Mage:
The Made is at level 51 and I have put him on a temporary hold in order to spend time leveling the Warlock to 70.

The Shaman:
I have been running the Shaman for the last few weeks on the Refer-a-Friend program with a friend who has a Warlock. We are both around level 40 and it didn’t take much time to get there. It isn’t uncommon to get 9500+ XP for a quest turn-in at this level with this triple XP bonus.

The Hunter and The Twink:
These 2 names are the same toon. I started a hunter a while back, only because I didn’t have one and I wanted to see what they were like. In my opinion, there are too many hunters on the server. Anyway, after I started him and ran him up to around level 8, a friend on the server said that I should Twink him out and bring him into a Twink guild that he had. So we ran him through Deadmines and Wailing Caverns, getting some good leather armor drops and weapons for him and I started running Warsong Gulch with him last week. THAT IS FUN! He already has over 1000 kills and I have bought 2 new PvP pieces of gear with the honor I received. Our goal is to get them Exhaulted with Warsong Outriders, and then level them to 29 and start on Arathi Basin.

Is Isle of Quel’Danas a BG now ??

October 2nd, 2008

Yesterday I decided to go run the Daily quests again on Isle of Quel’Danas.  There are 10 quests out there that, if you do all of them, will earn you about 120Gold.  So each day, you can have an easy 120Gold in about 30-40 minutes.

However, yesterday evening was apparently when all the 12-yr old Allies, who aren’t good enough for Battlegrounds I assume, decided to start making trouble and attacking everyone out there.  After a few minutes the Peacekeepers finally got them and they split up and went elsewhere.

I’ve seen some good Allies in Battlegrounds before, so the ones who make trouble while doing daily quests.. do they just suck at BG and don’t wanna go get PWNED in there, so they come to Isle to cause trouble?  I’ll just have to remember to start doing my dailies either before school is out or after their bed times, from now on.
