Ding, 30

without comments

Hunter dinged 30 2 days ago on the refer-a-friend program.  I do not get to play him much because my friend works 2 jobs, so we try and level them when we can.  We also started 2 new toons, in hopes that we’ll have time before the 90-day trial expires, to take both of them to 60.  I now have a Rogue.

Lowest DPS in 25-man VoA

without comments

So The Warrior went and ran 25-man VoA after we won WG on Saturday.  My plan wasn’t to go, but I got invited, so I went.  I have run this before on The Warrior, so it isn’t new to him (I’ve run it many times on my healer, so I know the dungeon..) but I haven’t run the new boss yet with The Warrior.

We go in and kill all the trash, then kill Archavon and some nice plate pants drop for me, which I won the roll on.  However, they threw up the DPS meter and I was around 1100 DPS, right at the bottom of the list.  I beat the tank, but that was all.  And of course this is a pug group, so everyone starts complaining about me and a couple of other low DPSers.  And honestly, I cannot blame them, one reason I stopped playing this toon is because his DPS sucks.  And it is next to impossible to find RAID runs with a non-geared DPS Fury Warrior.  Most groups want me to tank, and I absolutely hate tanking with a warrior, so I never want to do that, and no one wants a non-geared warrior.  I have run some heroics and I do have a few epic pieces, but still… no one wants a warrior.  So I stopped playing him, and this weekend, I was reminded why.

And its ok, I am not upset about it, I know his DPS sucks.  My plan is to get The Mage to 80, he is almost 71 right now, and he will be my main DPS.

T7 Resto Shammy

without comments

I dinged 80 a week ago on Thursday, March 5.  Last week I got guild runs with a new guild I am in.  We ran 25-man OS, 25-man VoA and 25-man Naxx.  Also, I was able to get in a PUG run for 10-man Naxx for the last 2 bosses, but we weren’t able to kill the last guy.  That’s what I get for running with PUGs.

Anyway, I now have 6 pieces of T7, level 213, gear.  My bonus heals are around 1660 with no buff, 1850 with a self-buff (earthliving weapon)  I’ve been running Heroics for achievements and mount drops.

Last night we ran H VH, H CoS and H UP and I healed all of them fine.  No wipes in any of them, but we had some pretty sicked DPS also, so the team was able to burn down all the bosses pretty fast.  This new guild is working out quite nicely.  My 80 Prot Pally is already a member, and I am thinking of moving my 63 Mage over to that guild once he hits 70.

[For the Horde!] Finally!

without comments

I finally got this achievment done last night.  This was my 4th attempt; I tried twice with The Warrior and both of those groups were PUG’d and failed because no one wanted to take charge and lead (Including me since I had never done it before).  My 3rd attempt was with The Shaman and we did alright, the leader was very good, I thought, but no one wanted to listen to him, so that one also failed.  Last night, I got into a guild event that was running it.  I was invited by a friend of mine who is in that guild, so I went and ran it with him and we got the achievement.  This was a cool raid.  I am looking forward to doing it now with The Warrior and also The Paladin.

Netherwing and Sha’Tari Skyguard

I started on these 2 quest lines with the Resto Shammy last week, who is now 73 (should ding 74 tonight)  The main reason for doing these rep daily quests is for the 2 mounts that they give, Netherwing gives the Netherdrake and Sha’Tari gives the Nether Ray.  I’m really enjoying the Resto Shammy, I got agro from a 72 Elite in Skettis when I was out there at 71.  I used every CD I had and healed myself 4-5 times, but I killed him.  He is becoming my favorite toon very fast.

New Poster

without comments

I haven’t posted here in a while, and some things have changed and updated with the game, so let me get the logistical items out of the way.

Bluepumpkin no longer exists, I had to delete him to make room for another toon, so he is gone.  After that, I created a 2nd account in the Refer-a-Friend program, which I have posted in here about already, and I created a new toon for my bank toon on that account.  His name is Jape.  You might have also seen him around Orgrimmar, running back and forth from the bank, AH and mailbox.  However, now that my main toon on the 2nd account is level 62, I have decided not to pay for that account anymore, so I will be moving that toon to my first account, recreating my bank toon on my first account, and cancelling my second account.

All that to say…. Darthmarco will now be my bank toon on my first account, who will also be stationed in Org, near the bank.  The name Darthmarco is dedicated to my friend at work, who thinks he is too good to play WoW, but I keep needling him to start.

So from this point forward, I will be posting under the userid of Darthmarco.  Look for him in Orgrimmar, he is a Tauren Hunter.

Refer-a-Friend Ending

without comments

Our Refer-a-friend bonus actually goes until Feb 5, but I am not sure that we will run any more toons before then. Last week, we got our 2 toons to 58 (my Paladin and my friend’s Warlock), and I was able to get level grants on both my Shammy and my Mage, so along with my Deathknight, I now have 4 toons around level 58.

It didn’t take any time at all to quest in Thrallmar with each toon from 58-60. My Shaman is now 61, about 20% through. I am planning on using him as a Resto Shammy for my guild.

So I have some work to do, to level 4 toons all the way to 80. This is on top of my main, The Warrior, who is already 80 and I am raiding with, and The Warlock who is 74, working his way to 80 also. I am going to concentrate on running the Shaman (who will be heals) and the Paladin (who will be Prot) up to 80, each as a DPS spec now, and then re-specing to their respective roles once they hit 80.

So I have some work ahead of me….

Cold Flying at Level 77

without comments

Yes, the Warrior hit Level 77 last night. It costs 1000g to get Cold Weather Flying from the trainer, who is right next to the Flight Master in Dalaran. Once you get this, you can use your previous flying mount from Outlands in Northrend.

As a follow-up to a comment in my previous post about Northrend Gear… I have noticed a significant difference between The Warrior, who wears Plate, and The Warlock, who is now 71 and a Cloth Wearer. There seems to be a larger abundance of Cloth gear in Northrend, than Plate gear. This was also true when I first got to Outlands, it was frustrating because most of the Plate was Paladin gear, having Intellect and Spell Power/Healing buffs. So Warrior Plate seems to be in shirt supply, so if you are leveling a Warrior, go get some Level 70 Purples from Karazhan or other BC instances, it will last you a long time in Northrend.

One funny part about Northrend flying is that there are “No Fly Zones” so when you enter one of these, it pops a message on your screen and tells you that you will dismounted, then it kicks you off about 10 seconds later. This happens inside the City of Dalaran also, you can only fly near the Flight Master.

Level 70 Warlock

with 2 comments

The Warlock dinged level 70 last night. Now I get to spend cash on Primal Waters and Fires, and Shadowcloth, so that I can make his Frozen Shadoweave Epic pieces. I also trained him to make the Imbued Netherweave Blue set, so he will wear 1 or 2 of those, but I already got him a purple belt so I will actually have 4 purples on him.

The purples that I have on my Warrior, he is still wearing. I will write another post in a bit about Northrend quest rewards, how they aren’t better then the Blues/Purples from Outlands 70s PvP/Raids.
